What started as a two-week idea turned into an eight-month community institution. The Free Store for Ukrainian Newcomers temporarily closed its doors at its original 10137 104 St. location at the end of 2022 as it prepared to move into a larger space — a milestone co-founder Janice Krissa-Moore never imagined would happen. In the time it operated, an estimated $25,000 to $50,000 worth of items were donated every single week, helping more than 5,000 people rebuild their lives. CTV News
