On February 10 from 12:00–1:00 PM, Little DON’YA (10405 Jasper Avenue) will host a special Heart Month lunch featuring renowned Edmonton chef Brad Smoliak alongside the Ukrainian cooks of DON’YA Ukraine’s Kitchen. This meaningful reunion supports the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute VAD Program, the life-saving program that helped give Brad a second chance at life.

Brad Smoliak—chef, cardiac patient, and passionate advocate for heart health—lives with a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD). When DON’YA first opened, Brad mentored many of the Ukrainian cooks as they built confidence in a new professional kitchen. This Heart Month event brings them back together to cook for a cause deeply personal to them all.

Tickets are $40, and 100% of proceeds will be donated directly to the Mazankowski Heart Institute, thanks to our friends at JCI Edmonton, who have matched our donation amount.

Each ticket includes a special Heart Month lunch, complete with pink perogies, prepared by Brad and the DON’YA team.
